GYPWORX Gypsum Plaster

About GYPWORX Gypsum Plaster

Gypsum plaster (hydrous calcium sulfate/calcium hemihydrate) is white, smooth powder that is derived from heating gypsum rock. When gypsum is heated in air it loses water and converts first to calcium sulfate hemihydrate, (often called “plaster”) and, if heated further, to anhydrous calcium sulfate (anhydrite). Stucco is applied wet and hardens to a very dense solid.

GYPWORX gypsum plaster (also known as Plaster of Paris or Gypsum powder) factory is applying advanced gypsum calcination technology. with production team expert in gypsum powder/Stucco. Our factory is also using the purest gypsum rock as raw material from our own gypsum rock mines.

Advantages of GYPWORX Gypsum Plaster

  • Adjustable setting time depending to the customers and market needs.
  • super strength after drying Due to the use of pure gypsum rock.
  • High resistance to fire and water.
  • No screening.
  • Whiteness above 95%.
  • This gypsum powder is light in weight and more durable.
  • It has low thermal conductivity.
  • It is very good fire resistant and hence a very good heat insulating material.
  • It does not shrink while setting. Therefore, it does not develop cracks on heating or setting.
  • It forms a thick surface to resist normal knocks after drying.
  • It mixes up easily with water and is easy to spread and level.
  • It has good adhesion on fibrous materials.
  • It gives a firm surface on which the colors can settle.
  • This gypsum powder has no appreciable chemical action on paint and does not cause alkali attack.
  • Plaster of Paris gives a decorative interior finish. Its gypsum content provides it a lot of shine and smoothness.
  • It can easily be moulded into any shape.

Stucco relief was used in the architectural decoration schemes of many ancient cultures. Since stucco can be used for decoration as well as for figurative representation. it provides an ideal transitive link from architectural details to wall paintings. and also is used to form a semi-plastic extension of the real architecture that merges into the painted architecture.

Stucco is valued as a siding material for its attractiveness and durability and is a relatively low-maintenance exterior finish. Gypsum powder (Gach Sanati Joonob Fars) is often selected for multi-family projects. due to the fact that when it’s applied to 7/8-inch nominal thickness, provides a one-hour fire rating. Stucco can be directly applied to brick and concrete primer, or applied over wood frame, metal siding, or other materials.

FAQ's / Order

Gypsum plaster is a finishing plaster made by partially or fully dehydrating the mineral gypsum, then mixing the resulting powder with water. The mixture produces a workable paste that, when applied to walls or ceilings, hardens into a smooth, durable surface suitable for painting or decorating.

Gypsum plaster offers several advantages over traditional cement-sand plaster:

  • It sets quickly (often in 25–30 minutes), accelerating construction time.

  • It doesn’t require water curing, which saves time and resources.

  • It produces a smooth, white, ready-to-paint surface without the need for separate putty or whitewash.

  • It is lighter than cement plaster, reducing dead load on structures — beneficial especially in multi-storey buildings or structures sensitive to weight.

  • It offers better thermal insulation and can contribute to a more energy-efficient indoor environment.

  • It provides a smooth surface, making painting or decorative finishing easier and more attractive.

Gypsum plaster is ideal for interior walls and ceilings — especially in dry indoor environments. It works well on masonry substrates including bricks, concrete blocks, or AAC blocks. It’s commonly used for finishing walls, false ceilings, decorative moldings, and smooth interior surfaces.

Because gypsum plaster is moisture-sensitive, it should not be used in areas exposed to constant moisture or dampness (e.g. bathrooms, kitchens, exterior façades, balconies). Also, it may not be suitable for exterior walls.

Gypsum plaster typically sets within 25–30 minutes. After setting, it generally requires a short drying period; many sources note that surfaces plastered with gypsum can be ready for painting or finishing within roughly 3 days (or after full drying).

No — unlike cement-sand plaster, gypsum plaster does not require prolonged water curing. That means significant time and water savings during construction.

Yes — gypsum plaster creates a smooth, uniform surface that often is ready for paint without needing an additional putty or whitewash coat (assuming plaster is properly applied and dried).

Yes — gypsum plaster has relatively low thermal conductivity, helping to moderate indoor temperature fluctuations and potentially improving energy efficiency. It also offers improved acoustic insulation compared to some traditional plasters.

Yes — one of gypsum plaster’s key benefits is its inherent fire resistance. Because gypsum contains chemically bound water, under high temperature it releases steam, which helps slow down heat transfer and provides added fire protection.

Because of quick setting and the fact that it doesn’t require curing or multiple coats, gypsum plaster significantly reduces construction time. This can lead to lower labor costs and faster project completion compared to cement-sand plaster.
